The Balance

Finding the balance in life is tricky.You’re managing priorities and commitments all the while considering your mental health, your general attention span abilities and your needs and wants.

The right balance in life is comparable to a cooking a meal. Too much salt and it leaves your thirsty, not enough salt and it feels like something is missing. But the right amount of salt gives the meal balance; it makes sense, it’s satisfying and amazing.

Life is the same.

Finding that work life balance is essential. It’s important to find a career that you love with goals and the aim to excel, but having that off switch is just as crucial. Finding time for exercise, friends, family, relaxation, sleep and me-time is part of the recipe of a balance life.

Performance and production is maximised when you have a chance to switch off. Burning out from submerging yourself in work and drowning in commitments can cause damage to your happiness and your mental health.

It’s a balancing act.

In celebration of the weekend, I’m saying see ya later to work and hello to good times and time out.

Finding the balance is like styling your work outfit. You need to wear what makes you happy as much as you need to adhere to the dress code. Don’t let yourself get lost in your work.

Black and white is a reliable combo for the working week, but reliable shouldn’t mean boring. Mix up your wardrobe with layers to add a little personality and find the balance between fun and work.

My favourite thing to do on a Friday night is a quick clean of the house while dinner is cooking. This means that I don’t have to worry about doing any boring chores when I could be relaxing or doing something I really want to do on the weekend.
